1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WhatFitsThis ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
WhatFitsThis provides a cross-reference database for small engines, parts, and outdoor power equipment. The Service includes engine compatibility lookups, parts interchange data, equipment component breakdowns, shop management tools, and technical document resources.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid plans (Pro and Shop) are billed monthly or annually. Payment is processed securely. Charges on your statement may appear from Black Glass Consulting LLC. You may cancel at any time through the account management portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not: resell or redistribute database content in bulk without a Shop tier subscription; scrape or systematically download data outside of the provided API; use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service; submit false or misleading data to the community database.
6. Data Accuracy Disclaimer
Compatibility data is provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, WhatFitsThis does not guarantee that any engine or part will physically fit your specific equipment. Always verify fitment before purchasing. We are not liable for incorrect installations, damage, or injury resulting from reliance on our data. Technical documents linked from our platform are hosted by their respective manufacturers.
7. Shop Tier Tools
Shop management tools (quotes, invoices, customer database, inventory tracking) are provided as a convenience for repair shop operations. WhatFitsThis is not an accounting, tax, or legal service. Shop owners are responsible for their own billing accuracy, tax compliance, and record-keeping obligations.
8. Intellectual Property
All database content, software, and design are owned by Black Glass Consulting LLC. Manufacturer names, part numbers, and model numbers are trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.
9. Community Submissions
By submitting data (swap reports, part cross-references, corrections), you grant WhatFitsThis a perpetual, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that information within the Service. You represent that your submissions are accurate to the best of your knowledge.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. WhatFitsThis shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to equipment damage, failed installations, or business losses.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ohio.
