We collect: email address and name (at signup); payment information (processed securely by our payment provider — we never store credit card numbers); search queries and usage data; device and browser information via standard web logs; shop data you enter (customers, inventory, quotes, invoices) if using Shop tier features.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide and improve the Service; process subscription payments; send account-related communications; analyze usage patterns to improve data coverage and accuracy; enforce our Terms of Service; provide shop management features (if applicable to your subscription).
3. Payment Processing
All payment processing is handled securely by a PCI-compliant payment provider on behalf of Black Glass Consulting LLC. We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment details on our servers. Charges on your billing statement may appear as Black Glass Consulting LLC.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with: our payment processor (for billing); infrastructure providers (to operate the Service); law enforcement (if legally required). We do not share your search history, garage contents, or shop data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Shop Tier Data
If you use Shop tier features, your customer data, invoices, quotes, and inventory information are stored securely and accessible only to your account (and any staff members you invite). Customer-facing documents (quotes, invoices) are accessible via unique links that you share. We do not use your shop data for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We use localStorage to remember your theme preference (light/dark mode). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. Pro and Shop tier users enjoy an ad-free experience.
7. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Search history (Pro/Shop) is retained for your convenience and can be cleared at any time. Shop data (customers, invoices, inventory) is retained while your subscription is active. If you cancel your subscription, data is retained for 90 days before deletion. You may request immediate deletion at any time.
8. Security
Passwords are securely hashed using industry-standard algorithms. All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We follow security best practices including access controls, encrypted storage, and regular security reviews.
9. Your Rights
You may: access your personal data at any time through your account; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your account and all associated data; export your data (Shop tier includes CSV export). Contact support@whatfitsthis.com for any data requests. We respond within 30 days.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
11. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
